To minimize your investment in your raised floor, regular maintenance is a must. All raised floors require proper maintenance to ensure more durability and life. Listed below are the requirements for proper raised access floor maintenance and care:
Structural Maintenance
01 . Inspect the floor yearly by a qualified raised floor technician.
02 . Rotate panels at least twice a year between high and low traffic areas.
03 . Adjust floor understructure once a year to correct structural problems and maintain manufactures specifications.
04 . Replace any missing components as needed, such as edge trim, grounding clips, screws, stringers and pedestals and stringer gaskets.
05 . Use professional panel lifter to lift panels.
06 . Other contractors should not use floor when floors are not well protected.
07 . Heavy weight scaffold should not be used on the floor surface.
08 . Feet of ladders should be covered with thick rubber.
09 . Paint and other chemical materials are forbidden on floor surface.
10 . Hammering with hammer or heavy things on the floor is forbidden.
11 . Scratching with knives or hard things on the panel is forbidden.
12 . When welding, protect floor surface with three-ply board to prevent sparkles from dropping on floor.
13 . Replace delaminated and warped panels immediately.
Cleaning and Care
01 . The surface of the access floor for installation should be level.
02 . The surface of access floor should be away from chemical products.
03 . When cleaning the floor surface, DO NOT use water directly on it, instead use a squeezed wet mop.
04 . Avoid direct sun light on the floor surface.
05 . The persons working in the computer room should wear soft bottom shoes.
06 . Mop or vacuum floor daily.
07 . Damp-mop with warm water and mild multipurpose ammoniated floor cleaner. DO NOT use strong solvents, abrasives or scrapers to remove stains.
08 . Have surface professionally cleaned by professional raised floor Maintenance Company once a year.
09 . Clean air flow and perforated panels twice a year.
